Stepping into Vrindavan is not just a vacation; it is a profound spiritual journey. It is the land where Lord Krishna spent his childhood, performed his divine pastimes (Leelas), and enchanted the residents of Braj with his divine flute. Every particle of dust (Braj Raj) here is considered sacred by devotees worldwide. At Shri Kunj Bihari Sewa Dham, we believe that your accommodation should reflect this divinity. We are not just a hotel; we are an extension of your pilgrimage—a place where peace, devotion, and hospitality merge seamlessly.

+91 9009876483When you embark on a spiritual journey, the place you stay significantly impacts your state of mind. Staying in commercial hotels often disrupts the meditative peace you seek, as they cater to a noisy, fast-paced tourist crowd. Shri Kunj Bihari Sewa Dham was founded with a singular vision: to provide a sanctuary where the ancient Indian ethos of “Atithi Devo Bhava” (The guest is equivalent to God) is practiced daily.
Nestled in the upscale and peaceful area of Rukmani Vihar, our ashram stands out as a beacon of tranquility amidst the bustling energy of Vrindavan. The name “Kunj Bihari” refers to Lord Krishna, the one who roams the groves (Kunjas) of Vrindavan. By naming our ashram after Him, we remind ourselves daily that every guest who walks through our doors is a devotee of the Lord, and serving them is akin to serving the Lord Himself.
An ashram is not merely a building with beds; it is an ecosystem of devotion. At Kunj Bihari Sewa Dham, your mornings do not begin with the loud noises of city traffic, but with the soft, soul-stirring sounds of bells from our in-house Radha-Krishna temple. Our premises maintain a strict no-alcohol, no-smoking, and purely vegetarian policy, ensuring that the spiritual vibrations of your yatra remain unbroken even after you return to your room.
Safety, cleanliness, and proximity to major temples are the three pillars that make us the preferred choice for families, elderly pilgrims, and solo travelers alike. Vrindavan’s inner lanes can be crowded, making vehicle parking and safe movement difficult. Our location in Rukmani Vihar solves this entirely. We are close enough to Prem Mandir (just 1.5 km away) to allow easy daily visits, yet far enough from the chaotic market center to provide dedicated, secure parking and large, open, breathable spaces.
We have carefully curated every aspect of the ashram to ensure that physical comfort meets spiritual serenity. Our staff is trained not just in hospitality, but in the polite, respectful culture of Braj.
In the yogic and Ayurvedic traditions of India, food is categorized into three types: Tamasic (lethargy-inducing), Rajasic (passion-inducing), and Satvik (purity-inducing). When you are on a pilgrimage, consuming Satvik food is highly recommended. It keeps the body light, the digestive system healthy, and the mind calm and focused on devotion.
At the Shri Kunj Bihari Sewa Dham Bhojnalaya (Canteen), we take the concept of Satvik food extremely seriously. Our kitchen is a zone of absolute purity. Every meal served here is prepared strictly without onion and garlic. We source fresh, local vegetables, use high-quality pure ghee and oils, and maintain impeccable hygiene standards.
What to expect from our kitchen:
We offer a variety of room configurations to suit solo travelers, couples, and large joint families. Every room guarantees cleanliness, fresh linens, and peace.
A simple, spotlessly clean, and well-ventilated space ideal for budget-conscious pilgrims visiting during the pleasant winter months.
Perfect for couples and small families requiring a cool, comfortable, and premium retreat after a long, tiring day of temple hopping.
Spacious multi-bed setups (4-6 beds) specifically designed so your entire joint family can stay together in one large, comfortable space.
We understand that after walking barefoot in temples and performing parikrama for hours, your body requires deep rest. Therefore, we do not compromise on the quality of our mattresses or the cleanliness of our linens. Every room undergoes a strict quality check before check-in. Furthermore, realizing that many of our guests are elderly, we prioritize ground-floor allocations for senior citizens upon prior request. Our 24-hour power backup ensures that your ACs, fans, and hot water geysers remain operational even during regional power cuts.
Vrindavan experiences the classic North Indian climate. Planning your visit according to the weather and festival calendar is crucial for a fulfilling experience.
While devotees flock to Vrindavan 365 days a year, the most comfortable time weather-wise is from October to March. The winters are cool and pleasant, making temple walks and the 21-kilometer Govardhan Parikrama significantly easier. However, if you wish to experience the absolute pinnacle of Braj culture, visiting during major festivals is a must, though it requires booking your rooms at Kunj Bihari Sewa Dham months in advance.
Vrindavan is highly accessible from all major Indian cities. Whether you prefer flying, taking the train, or driving, the connectivity is excellent.
The inner streets of Vrindavan (near Banke Bihari and Radha Raman) are notoriously narrow and heavily congested. E-rickshaws are the lifeline of the city. Because our ashram is in Rukmani Vihar, you can step out of the gate and immediately hire an e-rickshaw to take you to any temple. The standardized routes make it very affordable. We highly advise against taking your personal 4-wheeler into the old city; leave it safely parked at our ashram and use local transport for a stress-free darshan.
When in Vrindavan, you are a guest in the home of Radha-Krishna. Respecting the local culture is essential. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered). Greet locals with “Radhe Radhe” instead of standard greetings. Be extremely cautious of the famous Vrindavan monkeys—do not carry open food, wear spectacles loosely, or carry shiny objects in your hands near Banke Bihari or Nidhivan, as the monkeys are known to snatch them!

Our strategic location in Rukmani Vihar places you just a short distance from the most highly revered temples in Vrindavan. Here is a detailed guide to what is around you.
Known as the Temple of Divine Love, this magnificent white marble structure was established by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. It is universally renowned for its breathtaking architecture, intricate carvings depicting Krishna’s leelas, and the mesmerizing evening musical fountain and light show. Being so close to the ashram, you can easily visit in the evening and return in time for dinner.
Established by Srila Prabhupada, this temple is a global hub for devotees. The primary deities are Krishna-Balaram, Radha-Shyamasundar, and Gaura-Nitai. The temple is famous for its 24-hour Kirtan, pristine cleanliness, and a deeply electrifying Mangala Aarti early in the morning. It attracts thousands of international devotees annually.
The undisputed heart of Vrindavan. Established by Swami Haridas, the deity of Thakur Ji here is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. The temple does not have a Mangala Aarti (morning aarti) as it is believed the Lord sleeps late after playing at night. The curtain (purdah) is drawn repeatedly during darshan to prevent the Lord from being overwhelmed by the intense love of the devotees’ gaze.
The most mysterious and sacred grove in Vrindavan. Devotees firmly believe that Lord Krishna and Radha Rani still perform their divine Rasa Leela here every single night. The twisted, intertwined Tulsi trees are said to transform into Gopis at night. The premises are strictly vacated before sunset, and nobody is allowed inside after dark.
One of the original seven temples of Vrindavan established by the Goswamis. The incredibly beautiful deity of Radha Raman self-manifested from a Shaligram Shila for Gopala Bhatta Goswami. It holds the highest standard of deity worship in Vrindavan, with fires in the kitchen burning continuously for over 400 years.
A relatively modern but highly popular attraction, featuring a gigantic, towering statue of Goddess Durga riding a lion. It includes a man-made cave system that replicates the actual Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, complete with a beautiful internal display and free food distribution (Bhandara).
